1) What is MTE Solutions?

MTE Solutions is a trusted supply‑chain partner supporting medical device and life science OEMs, contract manufacturers, and ECMs operating in regulated environments. With over 35 years of industry experience, we specialize in chemicals, cleanroom and production supplies, value‑added services, and inventory programs. Acting as an extension of our customers’ teams, we align supply programs to real demand—helping organizations scale reliably, maintain compliance, and keep critical products moving to market with confidence.
2) What about MTE Solutions work and impact makes you the most proud?
What we’re most proud of is our ability to be flexible and resourceful for our customers. In an increasingly complex and volatile supply‑chain environment, we help medical device and life science OEMs and contract manufacturers navigate material shortages, sourcing disruptions, and demand fluctuations. By acting quickly and creatively, we help customers avoid costly line‑down situations that can have significant financial and operational implications. Knowing our work helps keep manufacturing lines running and supports compliance gives us great joy and satisfaction in what we do.
3) What is on the horizon for MTE Solutions? What is something exciting people can expect to see from the organization in the near future?
In the near future, MTE Solutions is focused on expanding through strategic acquisitions, including distributors like our recent Michigan acquisition and non‑distribution companies that complement the supply‑chain ecosystem.
These additions allow us to move beyond a traditional distributor model and provide more comprehensive, value‑driven solutions. By integrating complementary capabilities across sourcing, inventory, logistics, and value‑added services, we aim to become a total supply‑chain partner that supports our customers’ entire manufacturing ecosystem.
4) Tell us about your professional journey in the healthcare industry. How did you first get involved and what were some of the key moments that led you to starting MTE Solutions?
MTE Solutions began modestly out of the basement of my father‑in‑law’s home while he worked 70‑hour weeks as a commodity manager at Boston Scientific, supporting highly regulated pacemaker and defibrillator manufacturing programs. In 2011, after I was laid off from a role outside the industry, I joined him to help get the business off the ground.
A defining milestone came in April 2012 when we acquired an existing distributor, enabling growth, increased buying power, and full‑time focus. Our evolution continued as we became a trusted global supply‑chain partner, supporting warehouse operations in Europe and Singapore.
5)What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a leader and how did you navigate it?
One of my biggest ongoing challenges as a leader is scaling the business without trying to carry too many roles myself. As we grow, balancing sales, operations, and customer relationships—while hiring the right talent and putting the right systems in place—requires constant adjustment.
That challenge is compounded by being a family‑owned business, with my father‑in‑law still involved, my wife serving as President, and my brothers‑in‑law in operational leadership roles. Managing those dynamics while maintaining fairness, accountability, and trust across the entire organization remains a critical and ongoing leadership focus.
6) What advice would you give to aspiring healthcare leaders and founders who are looking to make a lasting impact?
My advice is to stay humble, lead with integrity, and surround yourself with mentors and peer groups who provide real accountability—both professionally and personally. That accountability helps ensure your personal values and your company’s mission are genuinely being lived out, not just talked about. Failure is inevitable, but lasting impact comes from how you respond to those moments and whether you continue to lead with honesty, responsibility, and purpose.
7) Outside of your career, what are some of the favorite ways to spend your time?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two boys. We love cabin life, playing golf, and being involved in church‑related activities. Traveling as a family is also important to us—we enjoy creating meaningful experiences and shared adventures whenever we can.
8) What do you appreciate most about being part of the Medical Alley community?
What I appreciate most about being part of the Medical Alley community is the opportunity to learn and broaden my perspective beyond the industries we work in day to day. While we support medical manufacturers through the supply chain, being part of Medical Alley has allowed me to better understand where the healthcare and life sciences industry is headed, from innovation to regulatory and leadership challenges.
9) As healthcare continues to evolve, where do your see the biggest opportunity for growth to drive efficiency for your company and consumers?
As healthcare continues to evolve, we see one of the biggest opportunities for efficiency in the responsible use of AI and technology to help organizations do more with less. When applied safely and thoughtfully, AI can improve supply‑chain visibility, reduce manual work, and enable faster, more informed decision‑making—benefiting both our internal teams and the manufacturers we support.
10) How can the Medical Alley community rise to face those changes and challenges?
Medical Alley can play an important role by bringing AI experts and industry leaders together to help organizations better understand both the opportunities and risks of emerging technologies. While there is excitement around AI, there is also real concern—particularly in healthcare—about workforce impact, data security, and the potential damage AI can cause if implemented without proper safeguards. By addressing this “elephant in the room” through education, open dialogue, and shared best practices, Medical Alley can help companies move forward with confidence and responsibility rather than fear.
