Stephen Chang, Government Relations Manager
Mr. Chang joined The Medical Alley Association as Government Relations Manager in January of 2017. Stephen is a life-long Minnesotan, and attended Bethel University in St. Paul, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government. Prior to joining The Medical Alley Association, he worked at the Minnesota Senate as a Legislative Assistant for State Senator Jeremy Miller, and interned in college for Minnesota Senate Republican Leader David Hann and U.S. Congressman Erik Paulsen. Mr. Chang also serves on his alma mater Bethel University's National Alumni Board.
Dr. Jonathan Ploeger, DC, Research Manager
Dr. Jonathan Ploeger, a native Minnesotan, joined MAA as Research Manager in April, 2017. With a decade's worth of experience as a clinician, business owner, and oncology researcher, Dr. Ploeger has long-standing history of success in developing and delivering evidence based actionable resources to stakeholders. His goals, as a part of the Medical Alley team are to continue to uphold the robust portfolio of research already being developed, to bring fresh new ideas and clinical insight to content development, and most importantly to him, to assist in developing and executing new avenues of research dissemination to provide added value to MAA's membership base and the region.
Dr. Ploeger has extensive experience working in cross discipline, collaborative environments serving as medical advisor to worksite wellness initiatives and smoking cessation programs in Washington county, as finance director of local government and academic group boards at the University of Minnesota, and as a research and intelligence intern with the MAA. Dr. Ploeger has a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. John’s University, a Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.) from Northwestern College of Chiropractic, and anticipates completion of his Ph.D. (6-7/2017) in nutritional biochemistry with a minor focus in cancer epidemiology from the University of Minnesota (magna cum laude).
