Bio-Techne, Minnesota’s largest biotechnology firm has joined The Medical Alley Association (MAA), boosting MAA’s membership in biotech and pharma to over 125 members! Within the biotech and pharma sectors, nearly 90% of the total employment in Minnesota are members. We will continue our commitment to building services that enhance the value of membership for firms like Bio-Techne.
Bio-Techne provides “innovative scientific solutions to better understand biological processes and enable discovery.” They do this by developing and manufacturing proteins, immunoassays, antibodies, arrays, stem cell products, cell selection and detection products. They also develop instruments and systems to use these assays and other tools for research and development.
Dr. Cheryl Matter, Vice President of Research and Intelligence for MAA, commented on Bio-Techne joining, “If you are in the scientific world of biotech, you know Bio-Techne’s brands. You use their products. Their MAA membership will add greatly to our work in growing Minnesota’s biotechnology community.”
The Medical Alley Association was founded by a small group of entrepreneurs in Minnesota’s healthcare and health technology community. Our founding chairman, Lee Berlin, ran a drug delivery company, LecTec. Biotech and pharmaceuticals are at the core of our work and a part of our legacy as an organization. We are honored to add Bio-Techne to the roster.
