Networking Events
Alley Chats Networking Events are exclusively open to LifeScience Alley members and are held quarterly at member facilities. We also host a 3-hour boat cruise Alley Chats in the summer. Sponsoring an Alley Chats Networking Event has been a very successful method many organizations have used to showcase their products, services, and/or expertise in the life sciences to a highly targeted audience. Sponsorship is exclusively open to LifeScience Alley members and only two sponsors are accepted for each event.

7th Annual LifeScience Alley Conference & Expo (Dec. 10, 2008, Minneapolis Convention Center)
The Annual LifeScience Alley Conference & Expo is a one-day event that focuses on identifying trends and building collaborations within an educational forum. This is the premier life sciences event in the upper Midwest and attracts over 1,200 regional and international attendees from a wide variety of disciplines. The conference features two general sessions, seven educational tracks, and an Exhibit Hall. Sponsorship opportunities are exclusively open to LifeScience Alley members, while exhibiting spots will be open to non-members this year. Scholarship Golf Tournament (Sept. 8, 2008, Golden Valley Golf and Country Club)
The Alley Institute Scholarship Golf Tournament is designed to raise money to help students pursue careers in the life sciences. A variety of sponsoring opportunities are available from the title sponsor, to contest holes, and the ever-popular beverage cart! The 2008 Scholarship Golf Tournament (scramble format) will be held September 8 at the Golden Valley Golf and Country Club. The event includes use of the practice facility, lunch, cocktail reception and awards banquet and is open to both members and non-members of LifeScience Alley.

8th Annual MedTech Investing Conference
The Annual MedTech Investing Conference is designed to bridge the gap between small and emerging medical technology companies and venture capital investors. In addition to regional attendees, the event attracts investors from both the east and west coasts, and provides entrepreneurs with a great opportunity to gain valuable insights in building and financing their companies. This event is known for its high quality information, excellent networking, and deal-making opportunities. LifeScience Alley partners with International Business Forum (IBF) to host this two-day event.

BioGENEius Challenge Series

The BioGENEius Challenge is an annual competition for high school students (grade 9-12) that recognizes outstanding biotechnology research (it is sponsored on an international level by sanofi-aventis). Sponsorship support helps LifeScience Alley and Alley Institute underwrite the cost of hosting and coordinating the 12-state Midwest region event. The target audience for the BioGENEius Challenge is High school (public/private) students in the Midwest region and their parents.

Breakthrough Series - NEW!

LifeScience Alley has joined with the Office of Clinical Research at the University of Minnesota to create a continuing series spotlighting U of M research and to effectively connect the University with the medical technology industry and healthcare. The target audience for the Breakthrough Series is leadership level researchers, scientists and business development life sciences professionals in academia and industry. Sponsorship funds go directly to support Residents in postdoctoral research at the U of M in the form of scholarship donations.

Crossroads Series - NEW!

The mission of our Crossroads Series is: To bring together leaders from all aspects of the life sciences and provide a forum for them to learn about broad-reaching trends in life sciences and health care, as well as to enter into multi-faceted dialogues on key issues.

Small Business Leaders' Forum - NEW!

Leaders of small scientific businesses are invited to meet on the last Wednesday of each month (November-different date, December-no meeting) to share best practices for supporting and growing an emerging organization. These breakfast meetings will provide attendees with an opportunity to network with each other and hear from seasoned experts about issues uniquely affecting heads of emerging companies.
