Workforce Development
Alley Institute is committed to providing quality workforce development that enriches our industries by cultivating new talent. That's why we offer a variety of scholarships in the life sciences — from undergraduate academic and technical classes to professional and graduate education — and develop programs designed to expose young people to career options. These include hands-on career experiences, internships, and fellowships in the life sciences, as well as STEM education initiatives and biobusiness industry-education discussions.
BioGENEius Challenge
The BioGENEius Challenge is an annual competition for high school students (grade 9-12) that recognizes outstanding biotechnology research (it is sponsored on an international level by sanofi-aventis). Sponsorship support helps LifeScience Alley and Alley Institute underwrite the cost of hosting and coordinating the 12-state Midwest region event. The target audience for the BioGENEius Challenge is High school (public/private) students in the Midwest region and their parents.
